Iron Pentacle Class
The Everyday Iron Pentacle: A Tool for Daily Practice and Lifetime Transformation
The iron you carry in your blood is the same iron that was birthed in long-dead stars. It is the same iron that your ancestors both carried in their veins and used to craft their cooking tools. It is an ordinary substance that is essential to life, and it connects you back to the star that sang at the moment of your birth, to the deep earth below your feet, and to the simple magic of now–your breath, your heartbeat, and your power.
Reclaiming LA invites you to explore these mysteries with fellow witches, as we work the magic of the IRON PENTACLE together. The Iron Pentacle is one of the Reclaiming Tradition’s core tools for self-transformation, inherited from the Anderson Feri Tradition, and we will magically encounter its points–SEX, PRIDE, SELF, POWER, and PASSION–in this transformative weekend intensive.
Together, we will explore these points both intellectually and magically. Sex, Pride, Self, Power, and Passion are concepts with strong personal and political connotations that are used as forms of oppression by the dominant culture, but they are also a birthright that we may work to honor, heal, and reclaim. As we work these points, we will continue to build our magical skill set as we work with trance, movement, chant, and energy moving and shaping.
Like a knife or a cauldron, the Iron Pentacle is a tool that is useful and practical as well as transformational, and although this class will take place within a single weekend, we will use this short time to forge new ways of being in our bodies, our magic, and our daily lives. We will remember that the greatest tools of a magical practice are those we already hold within us, and that, as we work our Iron magic to heal and transform, we are held by both our community and by a legacy of radically courageous witches who have come before us.

To create a strong magical container, we kindly ask that students commit to attending the entire weekend.
WHERE
A private residence in Long Beach, CA. Address will be provided upon registration.
ACCESSIBILITY
We plan to hold most of the class in an outdoor area, with the chance that we will move indoors in case of rain. The space is largely flat, although may require some maneuvering over gaps in flat rocks. The indoor space, including bathroom and kitchen access, requires going up a step. Arrangements can be made for other class participants to assist anyone who requires mobility help.

We request that participants take a home covid test within 24 hours of the start of each class.

Reclaiming Tradition Core Classes
Elements of Magic
Each class is structured as a ritual and includes practical ritual and magical skills. Elements of Magic allows us to explore these skills in a supportive group setting. This class is a great way to connect with other people exploring Reclaiming-tradition magic and witchcraft.
We welcome both beginning students and advanced students who want to deepen their experience of the sacred elements.
Prerequisite: Reading of the first six chapters of The Spiral Dance by Starhawk.
Iron Pentacle
Using our magical skills, moving and shaping energy, transforming ourselves through trance to explore the five points of our inner pentacle: Sex (primal energy), Self, Passion, Pride (self-esteem), and Power (effectiveness in the worlds). Six classes (or weekend intensive), culminating with a ritual created by the students. Learn more about the Iron Pentacle in the Reclaiming Quarterly.
Prerequisite: Elements of Magic class or equivalent.
Pearl Pentacle
We will work with the deep, healing energies of the Pentacle of Pearl, moving through the five points: Love, Law, Wisdom, Power, and Knowledge. Learn more about the Pearl Pentacle in the Reclaiming Quarterly.
Prerequisite: Elements of Magic class or equivalent.
Rites of Passage
Rites of Passage focuses on dreams, myths, and language, using traditional and non-traditional tales and techniques to create a personal rite of passage. Through storytelling, trance, release work, and dreams we receive our challenge(s), meet our helpers, work through our blocks and emerge renewed, reborn. Six classes (or weekend intensive), culminating with a ritual created by the students.
Prerequisite: Elements of Magic class or equivalent.
Pentacle of Community
In this class, we weave magic to open ourselves to the wisdom of the being that is community. We work with the five points of our pentacle of interdependence: Collaboration, Honour, Common Good, Empowerment, and Service. Six classes (or weekend intensive), culminating with a ritual created by the students.
Prerequisite: Elements of Magic and either Iron Pentacle or Pearl Pentacle.
Sliding Scale
At Reclaiming LA, we’ve chosen to offer a sliding scale fee to make it easier for more students to participate in our classes by paying what they can afford. We also have scholarships available for students who need additional assistance. It is up to each student to self-assess their ability to pay.
